UGT demands that the Government ratify Convention 190 of the International Labor Organization (ILO) two years after its approval (June 25, 2019). In letters sent to the third vice president of the Government and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arancha González Laya and to the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, the union demands that the Spanish Government ratify as soon as possible " the first labor standard that protects victims of sexist violence in the workplace.” This labor standard responds to the need to create an instrument to protect victims of violence and harassment at work , which affects women especially seriously.
To this end, it establishes that all people have the right to a working world free of violence and harassment and includes the first international definition of workplace violence and harassment, including gender violence, UGT recalls in its statement.
